This programme has been established as an outbound community service to retirement aged care homes from Te Puke to Waihi.

The Memory Trunk provides an extremely beneficial service and can change people’s lives by giving them happiness and a moment of time that they remember. It has the power to encourage communication and interaction from handling or seeing an object from their past.

This programme uses objects from the Western Bay Museum Handling Collection.  These objects are used for memory retrieval and storytelling.
