Laura Hebbend

Laura Hebbend brings a strong passion for people, storytelling, and creativity to her role at Western Bay Museum. With a bachelor of design and passion for all things creative, she supports a melting pot of projects behind the scenes.
As former radio broadcaster, marketing lead, graphic designer, and practising artist, she has also travelled and lived across Aotearoa, bringing a rich mix of communication skills and visual storytelling to the team.
In her role at the museum, Laura manages the museum’s social media, website updates, press releases and digital communications. She captures and shares exhibitions, events, school visits and the everyday moments that make the museum a vibrant community hub.
Working alongside the team, she helps bring the museum’s mahi to life through engaging, visually thoughtful and accessible content, connecting audiences with local heritage and the stories that make the Western Bay special.
Laura is passionate about celebrating the people and stories of the Western Bay of Plenty. Through connection-led storytelling and creative content, she aims to help more of our community discover, value, and feel proud of the history that shapes this place.
