Laura Hebbend

Laura Hebbend brings a strong passion for people, storytelling, and creativity to her role at Western Bay Museum.

As former radio broadcaster, designer, and practising artist, she has also travelled and lived across Aotearoa, bringing a rich mix of communication skills and visual storytelling to the team

.In her role at the museum, Laura captures and shares exhibitions, events, school visits, and the everyday moments that make the museum a vibrant community hub. She enjoys working alongside the team to present the museum’s mahi in ways that are engaging, visually thoughtful, and accessible, helping bring local heritage to life for visitors of all ages.

Laura is passionate about celebrating the people and stories of the Western Bay of Plenty. Through connection-led storytelling and creative content, she aims to help more of our community discover, value, and feel proud of the history that shapes this place.
